Spare Part Guidelines
Our Plasma & LCD parts are mostly supplied to the trade who are aware of what part numbers are required via service manuals. In an effort to keep things simple, only basic information is provided on our site. Generally, all our part numbers are taken from what is printed on the board. We do this to aid identification but quite often, they are not really correct but are used only by the manufacturer to aid their build process.
The following notes are to aid non TV Engineers in finding the correct part for your set. However, it is recommended that you get expert advice before purchasing from us.
General.
We try and only cross reference relevant part numbers. For instance, under "Screen Drivers" you will usually only see the type of screen it is used with. This is because 99% of the time, the Make & Model of the set is irrelevant and would pull up confusing results in a search.
If a search provides no results, try just part of the number or a different number you find on the board.
LG.
The white sticker with a part number on plasma screen parts starting with 6871******* is usually correct. For example; a Y Sus for a 42PDPV6 screen is 6871QYH029A. The last letter is irrelevant in most cases.
6870 numbers can still be relevant in certain cases but only on SSB and PSU parts.
Also, EBR numbers are now being used. Again, this will be found on the white sticker.
SAMSUNG.
Marked on the board is a PBA number. Usually starting LJ92-***** LJ numbers are used for parts which can be found in all sorts of sets which they have supplied to other manufacturers. Again, the last letter is usually irrelevant and is just an update code.
The LJ41 number is the basic board with no components. Although this can be a good guide, it can not be relied upon and should be ignored in most cases. We usually do not provide these in our listing.
BN numbers are used by Samsung for their own sets. For example, their PSU's are usually BN44, BN96.
SSB's (Small Signals Boards) are usually BN94 numbers but can be hard to track down. Most people quote the BN41 number which is printed on the board. Again, this is can be confusing. The correct BN number is sometimes found on a sticker on the tuner, or elsewhere and may be part of the bar code.
Otherwise, it will only be available via the Service Manual. However, Samsung have excellent software people and they name their LCD styles of boards. Mostly, Milan, Greenwich, Bordeaux, Bordeaux Plus etc which are usually interchangeable within their group, no matter what size screen you have. (LCD only) The easiest way to check this, is to provide us with a photo of the board required and we can see if there is one compatible.
PHILIPS.
Well, it’s Philips. Therefore it will be a nightmare.
SSB’s. Mostly part numbers on the boards are irrelevant. It will be a basic guide such as ‘3139 123 58382’ for a 30PF9946/12 but this will only be correct if it is for exactly the same set, complete with the same screen. The firmware on this type of part may well have to be upgraded anyway which is beyond the capabilities of anybody without the correct technical equipment. For this reason, most Philips main boards have been withdrawn from public sale.
More often than not, all other parts for your Philips Plasma/LCD have been manufactured by others. Therefore, follow the basic rules of using a part number search to find what you need.
VESTEL.
Suppliers to Bush, Wharedale, Acoustic Solutions, Goodmans etc, etc.
A major supplier to the budget market. Common part numbers which customers quote are 17PW* for power supplies and 17MB* for main signal boards. Unfortunately, these are the part numbers of the basic board and vary greatly. The only way to guarantee compatibility is to find the 8 digit real Vestel part number printed on a sticker. A lot of power supplies are interchangeable but the main boards are not unless you know what you are doing.
The correct part number for the main board (SSB) can usually be found on a coloured sticker. There are 2 numbers. For example;
26140252 37"
20257114
It is the second number which is the Vestel part number. Often, this number can also be found on a white sticker attached to the tuner module with a barcode.
